About The Position

This is a part-time customer service role in which the sales associate gives customers immediate and complete attention by explaining, demonstrating, and selling woodworking supplies and tools. When not assisting customers, the associate maintains the sales floor through facing, dusting, and general housekeeping. The position is located in Garland, Texas.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Knowledge of woodworking and hand tools.
• Ability to understand customers’ requests and determine how best to respond to their needs.
• Ability to understand situations in which a merchandise return or refund can be authorized.
• Extremely strong service orientation to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Ability to be a team player and to be outgoing, approachable, and congenial when dealing with customers and other associates.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to personally lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and participate in team lifting.
• Takes initiative.
• Strong teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous retail sales experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as they enter the store and acknowledge customers encountered in the store within an acceptable period of time.
• Handle retail sales of company products by answering questions about product applications or use and processing sales on the POS.
• Show customers related products and services that may be useful for their projects as part of offering a “Total solution.”
• Maintain and merchandise the store to keep it neat, orderly, well stocked, and appealing.
• Handle customer refunds and prepare required documentation in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Refer customers to other sources when the store does not carry a specific item, with the intent of building goodwill for Rockler Companies, Inc.
• May assist with unloading trucks, pricing, merchandising, or other assigned duties.
• Attend work during scheduled shifts.
