About The Position
The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a Part-Time Welding Lab Technician to provide technical support for lab operations. This role involves assisting instructors and students with specialized equipment, performing maintenance, ensuring labs are prepared with proper inventories, and aiding in lab planning. Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis and the position may close early if the hiring need is filled or due to the volume of applications received.
Requirements
- Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW and PAC machines.
- Proficient with an Oxy-fuel system and the tools related to the Welding industry.
- Experience verifying proper equipment operation and performing equipment maintenance.
Nice To Haves
- AAS Degree in Welding Technologies and significant work experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for lab operations of scheduled and open Welding Technologies Labs.
- Support instructors and students with the operation of specialized equipment during labs.
- Perform maintenance on specialized lab equipment.
- Assist to ensure that labs are prepared and have proper inventories for classes.
- Assist the instructor plan and prepare labs in conjunction with full-time faculty.
