Part - Time Instructor, JUMPSTART - Welding - FY 2027
About The Position
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for their JUMPSTART Welding program for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves teaching pre-approved CSN Jumpstart Classes at a high school in coordination with the CSN Dual Credit Office. The instructor will be responsible for delivering both lecture and lab instruction, ensuring students meet curriculum standards and objectives. Key duties include grading, preparing progress reports, evaluating student performance, and making provisions to meet learning needs. The instructor must also demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures, emphasizing safety precautions.
Requirements
- Applicants must be pre-approved by the Department of Applied Technology before applying in Workday.
- 5 years of work-related experience.
- CCSD Business and Industry License or Secondary Education Teaching License.
Nice To Haves
- CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications, NCCER Instructor Credentials, OSHA 10, OSHA 30
- Welding Technology AAS degree or related degree
- One-year full-time teaching experience
- Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
- Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems
- Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
Responsibilities
- Teach pre-approved CSN Jumpstart Classes at your high school in coordination with the CSN Dual Credit Office.
- Lecture and lab instruction
- Instruct students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives
- Independently grade and prepare progress reports in accordance with school policy.
- Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
- Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence with safety precautions.
