About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for the JUMPSTART Welding program for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves teaching pre-approved CSN Jumpstart Classes at the high school level in coordination with the CSN Dual Credit Office. The instructor will be responsible for delivering lecture and lab instruction, adhering to curriculum standards and objectives, grading student work, preparing progress reports, evaluating student performance, and ensuring students meet learning needs. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating and assisting students with lab procedures while ensuring strict adherence to safety precautions.

Requirements

Applicants must be pre-approved by the Department of Applied Technology before applying in Workday.
5 years of work-related experience.
CCSD Business and Industry License or Secondary Education Teaching License.

Welding Technology AAS degree or related degree
One-year full-time teaching experience
Knowledge of computer classroom technologies

Responsibilities

Teach pre-approved CSN Jumpstart Classes at your high school in coordination with the CSN Dual Credit Office.
Lecture and lab instruction
Instruct students in accordance with the curriculum standards and objectives
Independently grade and prepare progress reports in accordance with school policy.
Evaluate the performance of students regarding achievements in curriculum and activities and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs.
Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence with safety precautions.
