About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a MIG Welder for its manufacturing team in Glendale, Arizona. The role involves welding trucks, trailers, and support equipment for U-Haul. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Candidates must successfully complete a plant-administered welding test, and regular attendance is essential. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective clothing or gear may be required. The position also involves physical exertion, including extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 pounds with or without assistance. Requirements

Responsibilities

Perform all-position MIG welding to join steel and aluminum metals from 1/16-inch to 1-inch-thick plate.
Interpret and carry out work orders, blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
Clamp parts into jigs or holding fixtures.
Clean burrs, spatter, and weld flux from assemblies.
Hand-count material for inventory purposes.
Wear and maintain protective clothing and equipment, including a welding helmet, welding gloves, cotton clothing, safety glasses, and steel-toe safety shoes.
Follow safety practices during assembly and production operations and maintain safe, clean, and orderly work areas.
