About The Position
U-Haul is hiring a Robotic Welding Technician (Programmer) to help build truck and trailer parts using robotic welding technology. The role is part of a team responsible for production at U-Haul’s Glendale, Arizona location. The technician programs, prepares, troubleshoots, and debugs welding robots; trains operators and programmers; and works to improve production cycle time and throughput. The position requires observing safety, housekeeping, and quality standards. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The listed shift is 4:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Requirements
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints.
- Ability to pass print-reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests.
- High mechanical aptitude; non-traditional backgrounds are welcome.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Able to travel for machine-specific training with the robotic company.
- Knowledge and experience using GMAW processes.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, debug, and prepare welding robots for production.
- Teach and train robot operators and programmers.
- Improve cycle time and throughput by adjusting robot paths and functions.
- Diagnose and correct machine issues.
- Ensure jobsite safety procedures and standards are met.
