About The Position

U-Haul is hiring a Welding Robot Operator to help build truck and trailer parts. The role involves programming, setting up, and operating robotic welding machines, particularly ABB robots, and may also require hand MIG welding. The position is located at 6112 N 56th Ave, Glendale, Arizona. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. Candidates must be able to travel for machine-specific training.

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, including exposure to moving parts, machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Protective gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required. Physical tasks include extended periods of standing or remaining stationary indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a robot welder with hands-on programming capabilities.
• Experience with robotic welding systems.
• Strong understanding of welding processes, robotic programming, and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to travel for machine-specific training.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
• Ability to move at least 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate robotic welding machines, specifically ABB robots.
• Develop and optimize welding programs and parameters to maximize efficiency and product quality.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshoot robotic welding systems.
• Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to plan, execute, and refine welding projects.
• Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Hand MIG weld as needed.
