Welding Robot Operator (2pm-10pm)
About The Position
U-Haul is hiring a Welding Robot Operator to work with robotic welding technology as part of a team that builds truck and trailer parts. The role involves preparing welding robots for production, programming and troubleshooting them, training operators and programmers, and improving production cycle time and throughput. The position is located at 129 Canal Rd, Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania. The listed shift is 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. The work environment includes moderate risks or discomforts, such as working around moving machinery, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Special safety precautions and protective gear may be required. The job also involves physical exertion, including extended periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. U-Haul states that it will not hire or re-hire nicotine users in Pennsylvania and other listed states.
Requirements
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Able to read and interpret welding blueprints.
- Able to pass print-reading, measurement, and fraction/decimal conversion tests.
- Demonstrate a high level of mechanical aptitude; non-traditional backgrounds are welcome.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Able to travel for machine-specific training with the robotic company.
- Knowledge and experience using GMAW processes.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Program, troubleshoot, debug, and prepare welding robots for production.
- Teach and train robot operators and programmers.
- Improve cycle time and throughput by adjusting robot paths and functions.
- Diagnose and correct machine issues.
- Ensure jobsite safety procedures and standards are met.
