About The Position

Pottsville Quarry, a partner of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Weighmaster to tally quarry products for production control and dispatch materials on a day-to-day basis. The role involves weighing trucks carrying crushed stone or asphalt, recording and tracking material totals, taking customer orders, and coordinating deliveries to job sites. The ideal candidate is flexible, detail-oriented, and has strong business acumen, problem-solving, and customer service skills.

The position works in a quarry and asphalt materials facility. The work environment may occasionally include exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and noise levels are usually moderate. The role requires regular sitting or standing and walking, hand use, reaching, talking and hearing, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 5 pounds. Vision needs include close and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as a GED, from an accredited educational institution, or one month of related experience and/or training; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• State Weigh Master’s license.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Ability to travel to regional quarries.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to fit test and use appropriate personal protective equipment as needed.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including movement and lifting as relevant.

• Three months of relevant experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Perform all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Weigh trucks loaded with crushed stone and/or asphalt products and issue weigh slips to drivers.
• Keep track of material totals for different jobs.
• Compute and record totals of tallied figures.
• Examine and sort items tallied.
• Move tallied items to storage, shipping, or production areas.
• Take orders from contractors and private customers for crushed stone.
• Dispatch trucks to job sites.
• Communicate job concerns with material suppliers, laborers, operators, and supervisors.
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude to internal and external customers.
• Track traffic and weather conditions affecting schedules.
• Monitor petty cash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
