About The Position

Web Second Press Operators assist with the setup and operation of a printing press in coordination with the Press Operator and assist press crew members. They ensure each job is run according to customer specifications, meets internal and external deadlines, maintains quality control, and reduces waste and press downtime. They follow departmental regulations and procedures to process customer jobs on time and within specified quality standards.

Knowledge of press setup and maintenance procedures.
Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
Basic computer skills.
Self-motivated, reliable, and quality- and safety-oriented.
Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

3–5+ years of experience as a multicolor web press operator.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain web presses and auxiliary equipment.
Interpret color bars, star targets, side guide marks, and slur indicators to control print quality.
Promote, enforce, and sustain safety, and identify ways to improve operations.
Program correct color standards into CPC and make necessary color adjustments.
Achieve color approval by matching prints to proofs.
Facilitate teamwork within crews and between shifts.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are followed.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
