About The Position

TransChicago Truck Group is a full-service commercial truck dealership representing Freightliner and Western Star, providing truck sales, service, and parts. The company is family-owned and describes itself as a fast-growing dealership group that values curiosity, teamwork, and growth. The Warranty Administrator prepares warranty documents, submits paperwork to manufacturers, tracks claims, and follows up as needed. The role also includes scheduling warranty appointments, coordinating with vendors for replacement parts, and staying current on factory recalls and announcements. This position is based onsite at the Elmhurst dealership.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience working in dealerships or with OEMs.
Prior experience managing warranty claims from start to finish.
Ability to operate and understand various PC-based programs and invoicing.

Responsibilities

Process warranty claims promptly for each franchise or distributor.
Process warranty paperwork and ensure proper documentation.
Verify criteria required by the factory or distributor.
Track warranty parts by tagging them with the repair order number, replacement date, and date on which the part may be disposed of.
Arrange for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor or to be scrapped.
File and maintain service records as required by the warrantor.
Stay informed about factory recalls and bulletins.
Schedule warranty appointments.
Coordinate with vendors for replacement parts.
Track warranty claims and follow up as necessary.
