About The Position

TransChicago Truck Group is a family-owned commercial truck dealership group representing Freightliner and Western Star. The Warranty Administrator prepares and processes warranty documents and claims, submits paperwork to manufacturers or distributors, tracks claims, and follows up as needed. The role also involves tracking warranty parts, arranging their shipment or disposal, maintaining service records, staying current on factory recalls and bulletins, and scheduling warranty appointments. The position is based onsite at the Shorewood dealership.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience working in dealerships or with OEMs.
• Prior experience managing warranty claims from start to finish.
• Ability to operate and understand various PC-based programs and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Process warranty claims promptly for each franchise or distributor.
• Process warranty paperwork and ensure proper documentation.
• Verify criteria required by the factory or distributor.
• Track warranty parts by repair order number, replacement date, and the date the part may be disposed of.
• Arrange for parts to be shipped to the factory or distributor or scrapped.
• File and maintain service records as required by the warrantor.
• Keep informed of factory recalls and bulletins.
• Schedule warranty appointments, coordinate with vendors for replacement parts, and follow up on claims as necessary.
