About The Position

The Employee Board of Elections, Warehouse Worker position is responsible for preparing and maintaining election equipment, ensuring compliance with federal and state election guidelines, and supporting election day operations. This role involves conducting business in accordance with federal election guidelines, Title 19 of New Jersey State Statutes, and the Policies and Procedures of the State Division of Elections and the Middlesex County Board of Elections. The position requires performing polling place site visits for ADA conformity, attending and administering poll worker training, and safeguarding sensitive election documents and supplies. The role also includes performing other assigned duties as delegated by supervisors and attending all required state and Board training classes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be able to lift 30 – 60 lbs. continuously
  • Must have the ability to accurately follow verbal and written directions and be observant.
  • Ability to perform in a professional manner under stress when confronted with tight deadlines.
  • Willing to work extended hour prior to elections.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Works effectively in cooperation with all Election Day staff.
  • Applies excellent interpersonal skills, including effective oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, adaptability, dependability, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be registered Democrats within Middlesex County.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts business in accordance with the federal election guidelines, Title 19 of New Jersey State Statutes, the Policies and Procedures of the State Division of Elections, and the Middlesex County Board of Elections.
  • Prepare and pack electronic poll books.
  • Prepare/maintain election voting machines, which includes cleaning and minor repair of equipment.
  • Perform polling place site visits for conformity to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Attend and administer poll worker training classes.
  • Safeguards sensitive election documents and supplies.
  • Performs all other duties assigned, delegated, or required of Administrator and Warehouse Supervisor and Deputy Supervisor, including those prescribed by law.
  • Must attend all required state and Board training classes as defined by management.
