Warehouse Person - Lakeland Refrigerated
About The Position
The Warehouse Person maintains the building’s appearance according to Distribution’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and helps ensure product is accessible for safe selection and delivery to stores. The associate works with multiple groups to clean industrial equipment, tractor trailers, and facility floors; sort recycling materials; and help reduce shrink by collecting damaged cases, sorting product, repackaging items, and properly labeling cases. Work follows a Master Sanitation Schedule, and completed tasks are documented. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
- Obtain certification in pallet truck and forklift operations on or before the position’s start date.
- Be able to use cleaning chemicals and powered industrial equipment that require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Be able to lift, carry, and stack product weighing 67 pounds for Frozen Foods and Produce, or 85 pounds for Boxed Meat/Dairy.
- Be able to stand, bend, stoop, and twist, and perform repetitive work for long periods.
- Operate a pallet truck or forklift without any part of the body exposed outside the operator compartment.
- Work under strict time requirements.
- Read, write, identify, and verify numbers.
- Interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
Responsibilities

- Help ensure product is accessible for safe selection and delivery to stores.
- Assist with cleaning industrial equipment, tractor trailers, and facility floors.
- Sort recycling materials.
- Collect damaged cases, sort product, repackage items, and properly label cases to help reduce shrink.
- Follow the Master Sanitation Schedule and document completed tasks.
Benefits
- Holiday Bonus: 15 hours of pay in the first year of continuous employment, one week’s pay in the second year, and two weeks’ pay in subsequent years, subject to remaining employed through the bonus check issue date.
- Night differential of $0.75 per hour for associates regularly scheduled to work hours between midnight and 3:00 a.m.
- Freezer differential of $0.50 per hour for associates regularly scheduled in the Frozen Food freezer.
- Weekend differential of $2.00 per hour for hours worked from 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
