Warehouse Package Handler
About The Position
OnTrac is hiring a Package Handler to support warehouse operations. The role contributes to the smooth functioning of the warehouse, with an emphasis on quality, safety protocols, and maintaining a productive and secure work environment. Package Handlers unload trailers, sort packages by ZIP code, and load trucks for delivery while working as part of a team. The position is at 2100 E 15th Ave, Gary, IN 46402, and pays $18.00 per hour. Seven schedule options are listed: Monday–Friday, Tuesday–Saturday, Wednesday–Sunday, Thursday–Monday, Friday–Tuesday, or Saturday–Wednesday. Shift hours are 3:30 a.m.–7:30 a.m. or until the end of sort. Hours may vary based on business needs. “End of Sort” means completion of required sort work and cleanup activities as directed by site management.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be able to stay on your feet while working.
- Be able to work in heat and cold, as warehouse temperatures vary by season.
- Be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move items averaging 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Follow safety protocols and prioritize workplace safety.
- Unload trailers and sort packages by ZIP code.
- Load trucks for deliveries.
- Work cooperatively as part of a team.
