About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Material Handler in City of Industry, California. The role handles food products such as granola, cereal, olives, flour, sugar, and soy sauce in a warehouse environment using Crown stand-up reach trucks and other warehouse machinery. The position offers an hourly wage of $21.12, weekly pay, and paid on-the-job training. Safety is emphasized, with safety gear provided and state-of-the-art equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, and policies.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into a computer system.
• Must work overtime as assigned.
• Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action.
• Pull assigned orders accurately.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked and their stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation while retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Follow location and work-center safety and security policies and procedures.
• Train others in warehouse functions when required, including safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment.
• Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
