About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Material Handler in Aberdeen, Maryland. The role handles appliances in a warehouse distribution environment and involves operating or learning to operate powered industrial equipment, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks. The position pays $19.67 per hour, with weekly pay and paid on-the-job training. Safety gear is provided, and the work is performed in a safety-focused facility with state-of-the-art equipment and caring leadership.

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience.
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, policies, and related purposes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into a computer system.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action.
• Pull assigned orders accurately.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked and the staging location.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation, maintaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Follow location and work-center safety and security policies and procedures.
• Train others in various warehouse functions, including safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment, when required.
• Perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
