About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Warehouse Material Handler II in City of Industry, California. The role handles food products such as granola, cereal, olives, flour, sugar, and soy sauce, using warehouse equipment including Crown stand-up reach trucks. The position pays $21.12 per hour, with weekly pay and paid on-the-job training. Safety is a priority, and employees work with state-of-the-art equipment and receive safety gear.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
• Ability to read, perform basic mathematics, and understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety, work instructions, policies, and related purposes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into a computer system.
• Ability to work overtime as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before they adversely affect the customer.
• Identify damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify the number of pallets picked and the staging location.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation while maintaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Follow location and work-center safety and security policies and procedures.
• Train others in various warehouse functions, including safe operation of powered industrial lift equipment, when required.
• Perform housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.
