About The Position

The Warehouse Associate works in the Production department at The Salvation Army Bakersfield ARC and reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. This full-time role sorts and inspects products, identifies items and directs them to the appropriate processing department, and collects and safely transports merchandise from the distribution center. The position requires following Salvation Army policies and government safety regulations, maintaining confidentiality as needed, and performing other duties assigned by the Production Manager, Administrator, or their designated representative. Overtime requires the supervisor’s written approval, with the supervisor’s initials on the timecard beside the overtime hours.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area, supported by verifiable training and/or experience.
• Ability to read and write and to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform various repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sort products efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
• Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
• Identify products correctly and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and transport materials safely.
• Follow safety measures established and maintained by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed and required for program operations.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Production Manager, Administrator, or their designated representative.
