About The Position

The Warehouse Associate/Back Room Processor works in the Production department at the Salvation Army Bakersfield Ming Store. This full-time role sorts and inspects products, identifies merchandise and directs it to the appropriate department, and collects and safely transports materials from the distribution center. The position follows Salvation Army policies and applicable government safety regulations, maintains confidentiality as needed, and performs other duties assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative. The immediate supervisor is the Store Manager. Pay rate: $16.90 per hour.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Demonstrated competency in the relevant skill area, as indicated by verifiable training and/or experience.
• Ability to read and write and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
• Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to perform various repetitive-motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Sort product efficiently and properly according to Salvation Army policy.
• Inspect products for defects and damage as part of quality assurance.
• Identify products correctly and direct them to the proper department for processing.
• Collect merchandise from the distribution center and safely transport materials.
• Follow safety measures established by Salvation Army policy and government regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality as needed for operation of the program.
• Obtain written supervisor approval for any overtime; the supervisor’s initials must appear on the timecard beside the overtime hours.
• Perform other written or verbal duties assigned by the Store Manager or a designated representative.
