Warehouse Assistant- Catering
About The Position
Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support catering operations in the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. This part-time role offers a flexible schedule and may transition to full-time. Weekend availability is required. The Warehouse Assistant organizes and stages equipment and supplies for events, loads vehicles, coordinates supply substitutions, and checks and returns items after events. The role also maintains a clean, orderly warehouse and helps with operational errands and occasional delivery and basic event setup. The position is suited to someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, resourceful, active, and interested in learning about the catering business. Requirements
- Able to frequently bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Available to work weekends.
Nice To Haves
- Warehouse or similar experience preferred.
- Previous catering, event, or hospitality background is a plus.
- Knowledge of catering terminology is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Organize and stage supplies and equipment for catering events.
- Load box trucks and vans with staged supplies, ensuring the correct items are loaded and properly secured.
- Communicate with service and sales departments about supply issues and coordinate substitutions.
- Confirm that items returning from events are clean and in good working order, then return them to the warehouse.
- Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness and ensure equipment is protected and properly stored.
- Handle miscellaneous operational needs, such as picking up linens from dry cleaners, fueling trucks, obtaining last-minute grocery supplies, and making emergency supply runs to events.
- Occasionally deliver simple catering orders, sometimes including minor event setup.
