Wall to Wall Cashier
About The Position
Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits Cashiers support the customer experience at the point of purchase. They provide friendly, knowledgeable service, educate customers about wine, spirits, and beer, maintain department merchandise and displays, and process transactions accurately. The role is in a fast-paced retail store environment and includes keeping the work area clean, following alcohol-sale policies, helping with inventory and orders when requested, and assisting elsewhere in the store as needed. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
- Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
- Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions.
- Communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
- Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Over six months up to one year of similar or related work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide prompt, friendly service.
- Educate customers about wine, spirits, and beer products and help them select products.
- Operate the cash register accurately and process customer transactions.
- Rotate, face, and replenish merchandise and maintain product quality standards.
- Maintain department and store displays and build new displays as needed.
- Check in and put away products and review invoices as needed.
- Follow local, state, and company policies on the sale of alcohol.
- Assist with inventory and order products at the supervisor's request.
- Remove trash promptly and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful customer service.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
- Follow personal hygiene, dress, company policy, and store guideline requirements.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
