About The Position

Spirits Associates provide customer service in the spirits sales area, educate customers about spirits products, and help them find selections that meet their needs. They stock and present merchandise, maintain displays, check in products, review invoices as needed, and support inventory and ordering at a supervisor’s request. Associates follow local, state, and company alcohol-sale policies and help maintain a clean, sanitary department and a pleasant shopping experience. The role also includes answering customer calls, collaborating with co-workers, assisting elsewhere in the store, and completing assigned projects. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

Over six months up to one year of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and provide prompt, friendly service.
Educate customers about spirits products and help them choose products for their needs.
Rotate, face, and replenish merchandise while maintaining quality standards.
Maintain and build displays in the department and throughout the store.
Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
Follow local, state, and company policies on the sale of alcohol.
Assist with inventory and order products at the supervisor’s request.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
Answer the telephone promptly and assist callers.
Work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
