About The Position

As a Meat/Deli Clerk at Broulim’s, you will support the meat and deli department by providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of product quality and freshness. You will help customers choose meat and deli products, prepare and package products, and keep the department clean and organized. The role contributes to a positive shopping experience and the success of the department.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of meat and deli products, including cuts, preparation methods, and serving sizes.
• Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in packaging and labeling products.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the department.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry heavy objects.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and handle various tasks.
• Ability to collaborate with coworkers, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in a retail or grocery store environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with selecting meat and deli products, recommending options, and answering questions about cuts, preparation methods, and serving sizes.
• Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are properly rotated and organized.
• Assist with inventory counts and restocking to maintain adequate inventory levels.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, including cleaning surfaces and display cases.
• Receive, inspect, and store deliveries, ensuring product quality and freshness.
• Follow food safety guidelines and regulations for the safe handling and storage of products.
• Notify department managers when inventory levels are too high or too low and understand the reason for the difference.
• Operate meat and deli equipment, such as slicers and scales, safely and efficiently when necessary.
