About The Position

Spirits Associates provide friendly, knowledgeable service in the spirits sales area. They help customers find products, explain spirits selections, keep merchandise stocked and displays presentable, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. The role works in a fast-paced retail store environment and may include assisting in other store areas or taking on special projects as assigned. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and complete tasks involving a few concrete variables.
• Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift.
• Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Nice To Haves

• More than six months and up to one year of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
• Educate customers about spirits products and help them select products suited to their needs.
• Rotate, face, and replenish merchandise while maintaining product quality standards.
• Maintain displays in the department and throughout the store, and build displays as needed.
• Check in products, put products away, and review invoices as needed.
• Follow local, state, and company policies regarding alcohol sales.
• Assist with inventory and order products at the supervisor’s request.
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.
• Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful customer service.
• Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other areas of the store and complete special projects as assigned.
• Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
• Report to work as scheduled and on time.
