About The Position

The Waitstaff associate provides prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to community residents visiting dining rooms and activities. The role includes maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of dining rooms and wait stations and watching for situations that could create trip hazards for residents. Associates provide a pleasant dining experience while following instructions to accommodate residents’ specific dietary needs when necessary, and follow safe, sanitary food-handling practices. The position also involves cleaning dining and kitchen areas, following safety and infection-control procedures, protecting resident confidentiality, and helping maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.

• Must disclose medications that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently.
• Must possess a passion for working with and around senior citizens.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, pleasant, and efficient service to community residents visiting dining rooms and activities.
• Maintain or exceed standards for appearance and cleanliness in dining rooms and wait stations.
• Watch for situations that may pose trip hazards for residents.
• Maintain personal hygiene and health standards.
• Maintain the confidentiality of resident information.
• Provide a pleasant dining experience and follow instructions to meet residents’ specific dietary needs when necessary.
• Set up dining rooms properly while meeting or exceeding hospitality and service standards.
• Obtain food and supplies for meal service as directed.
• Distribute and store clean dishes.
• Follow safe and sanitary food-handling practices during food preparation, holding, and service.
• Assist with food preparation as directed.
• Perform directed cleaning duties in dining rooms, kitchens, serving areas, cafeterias, and storerooms.
• Mop floors in areas designated by a supervisor.
• Follow safety and loss-prevention procedures, universal precautions, and infection-control guidelines.
• Perform other duties or fill in for other dining-room or wait staff as requested.
• Work safely and alertly, and take ownership of personal safety and residents’ safety.
• Disclose medications that might impair the ability to perform the job safely or competently.
• Exhibit the CORE Values through servant leadership and demonstrate a passion for working with and around senior citizens.
• Attend required community meetings and participate in Life Enrichment activities when able.
• Complete required courses in adherence with HRA University.
• Perform required duties promptly and on a regular, predictable basis.
• Become familiar with reporting a missing person using the Safe Return program or equivalent and with fire evacuation procedures.
• Help maintain a safe and secure environment for all community residents.
