WAITER/WAITRESS (PART TIME)
About The Position
Morrison Living is hiring part-time Waiters/Waitresses at The Oaks at Denville in Denville, New Jersey. The role takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests. Days and hours may vary, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. The employer notes there are no late nights, offers a shift meal, and provides a uniform shirt. Prior server experience is preferred, but training is available. The pay range is $15.92 to $16.00 per hour. The position is part of the culinary team, which supports hospitality and dining experiences for those served by Morrison Living. Associates work with staff across departments during special events and functions. The position requires performing its essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities
- Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room and take food and beverage orders efficiently while following established service steps.
- Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards, and follow up with guests about additional needs or requests.
- Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests about food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
- Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
- Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
- Communicate effectively and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
- Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
- Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to a supervisor.
- Set up the dining room before service, keep it clean and neat during service, and restore it after service while meeting sanitation standards.
- Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Work with staff from other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
