About The Position

Unidine is hiring a part-time Waiter/Waitress at Penobscot Shores in Belfast, Maine. The position takes food and beverage orders and delivers items efficiently to dining room guests. The schedule is Tuesday through Sunday, with hours that may vary; further details are provided during an interview. The role requires prior serving experience. Responsibilities

• Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders according to established service steps.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Follow up with guests to assist with additional needs or requests.
• Understand menu items and ingredients, advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested, accommodate reasonable requests, and note preferences.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
• Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
• Communicate effectively and work well with others, remaining flexible and patient with guests and staff.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information or complaints to a supervisor.
• Set up the dining room before service and restore it afterward, keeping the area clean and meeting sanitation standards.
• Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
