About The Position

Oracle is seeking a leader with strong technical depth, organizational leadership, and experience building effective operating mechanisms to help lead OCI Data Core and Storage through its next stage of growth. The role leads Business Operations and Delivery Operations through the leaders of those functions, connecting business priorities with engineering execution, and guides technical programs that improve service economics, capacity utilization, reliability, and customer adoption. The position partners with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations to understand customers and the systems they depend on, set priorities, resolve resource and delivery tradeoffs, and establish clear ownership. The role also involves developing teams and leaders, shaping strategic initiatives, linking financial performance to engineering decisions, improving delivery and quality mechanisms, planning capacity and workforce needs, and communicating recommendations and risks to executives.

Requirements

  • Strong technical depth in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, storage, or data platforms, with the judgment to challenge technical plans and assess architecture, reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Record of delivering complex programs across organizational boundaries when the problem, ownership, or path forward was initially unclear.
  • Experience building operating mechanisms that improve decisions and execution, with measurable results.
  • Strong financial and analytical judgment, including experience with budgets, resource planning, forecasting, and business performance.
  • Ability to secure commitments, resolve competing priorities, and influence senior engineering, product, and business leaders.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex information into decisions and accountable action.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading programs involving cloud cost reduction, capacity utilization, service reliability, automation, or customer adoption.
  • Experience establishing release management, engineering quality, or incident follow-through practices across multiple teams.
  • Experience scaling global organizations and guiding changes to their structure, responsibilities, and operating model.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Business Operations and Delivery Operations teams, clarify responsibilities, and build capabilities for a growing technical organization.
  • Define the vision, scope, and execution strategy for strategic technical programs, including Cost of Cloud, revenue growth, and Autonomous Cloud; translate ambiguous problems into outcomes, milestones, and cross-team commitments.
  • Establish planning cycles, business reviews, program reviews, and executive reporting across Data Core and Storage, including Object, Block, and File services.
  • Partner with Finance and service leaders on revenue, margins, budgets, forecasts, and infrastructure investments; identify technical and operational changes to improve service economics.
  • Lead operating mechanisms for release readiness, dependency management, quality reviews, and operational readiness; partner with engineering owners on major issues, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate demand forecasts, customer commitments, utilization, and delivery constraints to guide capacity and investment decisions; work with capacity and engineering owners to improve forecast accuracy and cost of serving customers.
  • Build an intake and incubation process with Product and Engineering to assess requests, test assumptions, set priorities, and define scope, ownership, staffing, and continuation or stopping criteria for emerging initiatives.
  • Coordinate embedded technical program managers and central teams, resolve cross-organization dependencies, support architecture reviews, and ensure technical risks and decisions reach the appropriate owners.
  • Partner with leaders, Finance, HR, and Talent Acquisition on headcount allocation, hiring priorities, workforce planning, organizational design, and adoption of new processes.
  • Translate complex technical, financial, and operational information into concise executive recommendations; surface risks, explain tradeoffs, and drive decisions and actions to closure.
  • Understand customer workloads, challenges, and expectations; use customer understanding to guide priorities and investment decisions and measure outcomes through improvements customers experience.
  • Own outcomes from problem definition through delivery, resolve dependencies, and follow through on commitments.
  • Set ambitious measurable goals, make decisions, move with urgency, surface risks early, adapt to evidence, and build mechanisms for consistent delivery.
