About The Position

PBR Teams is the latest vertical under PBR, focused on driving revenue, marketing, innovation, and best practices across all PBR Teams. Entering its 5th season, PBR has announced the expansion of the league to 10 teams in 2024. The VP, PBR Teams Service is responsible for defining and leading how the organization strategically supports its PBR Teams in driving sustainable success. This role, embedded within the central Marketing organization, sets the vision and operating model for Teams Service, establishing frameworks, priorities, and capabilities to enable Teams to grow their fan base, deepen local engagement, and drive revenue. The leader ensures that league-level brand strategy, marketing expertise, and fan insights are translated into clear, scalable approaches for Teams to apply in their markets. This is a strategy and enablement role, focused on equipping Teams with the guidance, tools, and insights needed to succeed, while partnering closely with Brand & Marketing, Ticketing, Live Events, Corporate Partnerships, Media, and cross-functional TKO teams to connect league strategy to team-level impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field) or equivalent professional experience.
  • 10+ of progressive experience in sports, leagues/teams, live entertainment, or franchise-style businesses, with a strong focus on team/partner service or operations.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Experience supporting multiple teams, markets, or franchise partners through strategy, consulting, or enablement functions.
  • Strong ability to define strategy and translate it into scalable frameworks and operating models.
  • Experience building and leading enablement or service functions that support multiple teams, markets, or partners.
  • Deep understanding of fan development, local market dynamics, and sports or live event ecosystems.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner with team executives and stakeholders.
  • Data-informed mindset with the ability to use insights to guide recommendations and strategy.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence; able to align and influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to operate as both a strategic thinker and a builder in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Passion for sports, community, and fan engagement, with appreciation for the heritage of western culture.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the overall PBR Teams Service strategy, clearly articulating how the league supports Team organizations to drive market success.
  • Design and implement a scalable Teams Service operating model, including engagement structure, service offerings, and prioritization frameworks.
  • Establish clear roles and boundaries between league strategy, enablement, and Team-level execution to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of league-wide fan development strategies designed to grow the PBR Teams fan base at the local level.
  • Create scalable frameworks for fan acquisition, engagement, and retention that Teams can adapt to their markets.
  • Identify opportunities to expand reach into new audiences while strengthening connection with core fans.
  • Champion a fan-first mindset, ensuring all Team-facing strategies are grounded in audience insights and behaviors.
  • Translate league marketing and brand strategies into actionable toolkits, playbooks, and frameworks for Team adoption.
  • Establish and maintain best practices across key areas such as local marketing, fan engagement, and in-market activation.
  • Build systems for knowledge-sharing across Teams, including regular forums, workshops, and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Ensure Teams have access to clear, practical resources that simplify execution and elevate consistency without limiting local flexibility.
  • Define key metrics and success indicators for Team performance and market health, including fan growth, engagement, and revenue-related outcomes.
  • Provide strategic guidance to Teams based on performance data, insights, and benchmarking across markets.
  • Continuously refine Teams Service strategies based on data, feedback, and evolving market dynamics.
  • Partner closely with Brand & Marketing to ensure alignment between league-level strategy and Team-level application.
  • Collaborate with Live Events, Ticketing, Corporate Partnerships, Media, and Operations to ensure Teams can effectively leverage league resources.
  • Act as a connector across functions, simplifying access and ensuring Teams can navigate league resources effectively.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Teams Service and Fan Development team with a strong strategic and service-oriented mindset.
  • Establish a culture of partnership, accountability, and continuous improvement in how the league supports Teams.
  • Provide clear direction, prioritization, and development opportunities to ensure team effectiveness and growth.
