About The Position

Green Brick Mortgage is seeking a visionary operations leader to exemplify excellence and tackle the challenges of building a captive mortgage startup for their builder partners. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations excel in efficiency, compliance, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Vice President of Operations must embody Green Brick Mortgage's values of being Honest, Objective, Mature, and Efficient.

Requirements

  • BS degree in a business-related field (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business).
  • Experience leading teams in a performance and matrix-oriented environment with proven compliance and regulatory expertise.
  • Team-oriented work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, ability to quickly build relationships and work well across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong practitioner knowledge of GSE and Government mortgage loan products.
  • Thorough knowledge of mortgage industry regulations, investor guidelines, and compliance requirements.
  • Creative problem solver with strong quantitative, analytical, research, and decision-making skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills with a strong ability to operate under demanding deadlines and multitask on several transactions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • 15+ years of progressive work experience in the Mortgage Banking industry with at least 5-7 years directly managing Fulfillment Operations Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working inside of a captive lending or direct to consumer environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside senior management to develop a dynamic future vision for the Mortgage Operations Department which aligns with the organization’s values and objectives.
  • Foster a continuous improvement focused work environment by developing goals and measurable Key Performance Indicators specific to individual functional roles within Operations.
  • Recruit, hire, manage, and develop qualified, high-performing mortgage fulfillment staff.
  • Provide targeted coaching to staff and promote cross functional skill development across Mortgage Operations teams.
  • Build and monitor third-party vendor relationships to ensure strong communication practices are in place and defined service levels are maintained.
  • Work with senior management to develop dashboard reporting and performance scorecards to closely monitor operational trends and key business results.
  • Serve as a role model for the team by helping lead initiatives that promote a culture of quality and customer service for both our consumer borrowers and builder partners.
  • Promptly address identified process gaps.
  • Develop supporting policy and procedure documentation to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure that all investor guidelines and all federal and state regulatory requirements are met satisfactorily throughout fulfillment.
