VP of Enterprise Operations

SimplePractice
•$270,000 - $315,000

About The Position

SimplePractice is hiring a VP of Enterprise Operations to partner with the CEO on how the company runs at the executive level. The company describes itself as a $400M+ ARR vertical SaaS and AI company serving solo and small healthcare practices, with plans to double over the next three to five years. The role owns the executive operating system, integrated planning process, board operating process, and the AI-native tooling that supports them. It is a full member of the executive leadership team and reports directly to the CEO. The role does not own functional results, originate corporate strategy, or break ties between executives. Functional leaders own their results, the CEO and ELT own strategic choices, and the CEO breaks ties. The VP’s responsibility is to help ensure decisions are made on time with tradeoffs visible, and that commitments are carried out. The position designs and operates executive forums and accountability practices; connects long-term ambition to annual priorities, departmental plans, OKRs, and quarterly reallocations; and runs board and committee planning, materials, preparation, and follow-up. It also serves as business owner for an AI-native executive operating system, redesigning workflows and driving adoption, and leads selected CEO-sponsored, cross-functional enterprise projects.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in business or enterprise operations.
  • Direct experience running an annual planning cycle end to end at a software company.
  • Proven track record running a board cycle with private equity or growth equity investors.
  • Experience in operating or business-operations leadership roles, not exclusively staff or advisory roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold senior executives accountable to commitments while maintaining strong peer relationships.
  • Experience eliminating unnecessary meetings, reports, and processes to streamline organizational efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience personally redesigning operational workflows using AI tools.
  • Strong financial literacy to partner effectively with Finance on resource envelopes and reallocation.

Nice To Haves

  • Early-career background in management consulting or investment banking.
  • Experience running an annual planning cycle end to end at a SaaS technology company with $200M–$1B in ARR.
  • Experience with small-business customers, self-serve growth models, or healthcare technology.
  • M&A integration exposure.
  • Previous experience acting as a product owner for internal tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design and operate the ELT forums used to make decisions and hold the executive team accountable.
  • Audit recurring executive meetings and remove meetings that do not earn their time.
  • Write the ELT charter covering decision rights and commitment norms.
  • Maintain the central commitments-and-decisions log; ensure decision items are framed with recommendations; and escalate open cross-functional issues to the CEO.
  • Own the integrated planning process, connecting long-term ambition to annual priorities, departmental plans, OKRs, and quarterly reallocation.
  • Own the planning calendar, sequencing, and templates; ensure strategic choices are made before budgets are built; and reconcile functional plans across the enterprise.
  • Own the annual board and committee calendar, agenda architecture, and integrated narrative across strategy, operating performance, financials, talent, and risk.
  • Assemble board materials, prepare the CEO and executives, anticipate board questions, track follow-ups, and coordinate with investors.
  • Serve as business owner of the AI-native executive operating system, redesigning workflows to improve signal, preparation, decision memory, and accountability.
  • Decide what AI-enabled operating-system capabilities are built and in what order, and drive adoption.
  • Lead selected time-bound, CEO-sponsored, enterprise-level initiatives that cross functions and affect the value-creation plan, with clear charters, success measures, and handoff plans.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
  • 401(k) plan with company match.
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO), wellbeing days, paid holidays, and summer Fridays.
  • Mental health resources.
  • Paid parental leave and Backup Care.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission; some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.
