VP of Enterprise Sales

Prophecy•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

Prophecy is seeking its first hands-on enterprise sales leader to take over key sales responsibilities from the founders while developing the existing sales team and building a repeatable revenue operation. The role begins as a carrying-a-number position, with the VP personally leading the largest opportunities, and evolves into building a team and sales processes that make revenue predictable without requiring the VP’s involvement in every deal. The VP will run enterprise sales cycles from discovery through proof of concept, security and architecture review, procurement, and signature. They will improve the performance of current representatives, hire and ramp future account executives, establish forecasting and pipeline-review practices, and create sales playbooks based on deals they have personally won. They will also own the revenue number in front of the board and provide an honest assessment of what is and is not working. The first-year expectations include becoming capable of independently delivering the product demo and pitch, developing an account and territory strategy, managing multiple enterprise deals, hiring and ramping new salespeople, establishing forecast reliability, and enabling representatives to close deals without the VP’s direct participation. The position reports to a co-founder and may be based in the Bay Area, California, or remotely.
