About The Position

This role involves supporting the mission of Hillcrest Transitional Housing by assisting in the thrift store, specifically with accessories. Volunteers will interact with shoppers, donors, staff, and other volunteers, contributing to the store's operations and the overall mission of helping individuals transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. The role focuses on sorting, pricing, tagging, and merchandising accessories, maintaining a clean sales floor, and providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Compassion and respect for all people, including donors, shoppers, clients, residents, staff, and other volunteers.
• Ability to follow Hillcrest quality, pricing, and merchandising guidelines.
• Ability to lift totes and product in sorting/processing areas and stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Commitment to a minimum weekly shift of three hours.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support the mission of Hillcrest Transitional Housing in our interactions with shoppers, donors, staff, and other volunteers.
• Sort, price, tag, and merchandise accessories, such as shoes, purses, ties, belts, etc., as instructed by management.
• Maintain a clean and orderly sales floor and processing area.
• Provide superior customer service to shoppers when on the sales floor.
