About The Position

This role involves promoting and supporting the mission of Hillcrest Transitional Housing by interacting with shoppers, donors, staff, and other volunteers. The greeter will welcome customers, inform them about sales and promotions, assist with locating departments or staff, and thank shoppers upon exiting. This position contributes to providing care and hospitality, generating funding for Hillcrest's programs, and making quality merchandise available at discounted prices. New volunteers receive an orientation and initial training with a buddy or staff member, with ongoing support from site management. A minimum weekly commitment of three hours is required, with available shifts Monday-Friday (10 am-1 pm, 1 pm-4 pm, 4 pm-7 pm) and Saturday (10 am-1 pm, 1 pm-4 pm).

Requirements

• Compassion and respect for all people, including donors, shoppers, clients, residents, staff, and other volunteers.
• Be friendly and outgoing.
• Provide superior customer service to shoppers.
• Follow instructions.
• Commit to a minimum weekly shift of three hours.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support the mission of Hillcrest Transitional Housing in our interactions with shoppers, donors, staff, and other volunteers.
• Greet customers as they enter the store and explain any sales/promotions.
• Point customers to requested departments and staff when needed.
• Thank shopper when exiting the store.
