About The Position

Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to lead and support its volunteer staff in meeting the needs of patients and families. The organization provides personalized hospice care in patients’ homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals, with a holistic focus on physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. The coordinator works with the interdisciplinary team and program leadership to recruit, train, supervise, and coordinate volunteers, supporting patients and families with compassion, dignity, and respect.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of the healthcare system.
• Volunteer leadership experience.
• Understanding of end-of-life care experiences.
• Current driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or social services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the IDT Team, Clinical Manager, and Program Director to identify volunteer recruitment needs.
• Conduct volunteer training and provide ongoing volunteer supervision and program management.
• Implement volunteer programs.
• Assign volunteers to meet patient and family needs.
• Evaluate volunteer activities and performance.
• Maintain records of volunteer activities.
