Volunteer Coordinator (Part-Time)
About The Position
Care Initiatives Hospice is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to work with and lead volunteer staff in supporting hospice patients and their families. The organization provides personalized, holistic care in settings where patients feel most comfortable, including homes, long-term care communities, assisted living residences, and hospitals. Care is intended to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs while honoring patients' and loved ones' wishes with compassion, dignity, and respect. The Volunteer Coordinator works in cooperation with the IDT Team, Clinical Manager, and Program Director to identify volunteer recruitment needs, train and supervise volunteers, manage and implement the volunteer program, and coordinate volunteer assignments to meet patient and family needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Understanding of the healthcare system.
- Volunteer leadership experience.
- Understanding of end-of-life care experiences.
- Current driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or bachelor's degree.
- Experience in healthcare or social services.
Responsibilities
- Work with the IDT Team, Clinical Manager, and Program Director to identify volunteer recruitment needs.
- Conduct volunteer training and provide ongoing supervision of volunteers.
- Manage and implement the volunteer program.
- Assign volunteers to meet patient and family needs.
- Evaluate volunteer activities and performance.
- Maintain records of volunteer activities.
