About The Position

The Vitals Technician helps patients and physicians by obtaining patient information and providing services and assistance. The role works in a busy oncology/hematology clinic and involves direct patient contact, including with some patients who are very ill. The employee is expected to work regularly and on time, comply with company, state, and federal confidentiality and healthcare regulations, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent listening skills.
• Strong computer skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a team member, follow instructions, and communicate well with coworkers.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn new tasks and make judgments.
• Ability to stand for long periods, up to eight hours a day.
• Ability to lift and assist patients as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification.
• Medical experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record each patient's accurate height and weight at every visit.
• Obtain patient vital signs, including pulse, temperature, respiration, and blood pressure.
• Escort patients to a room.
• Verify medication lists during each Advanced Practice Providers visit.
• Adhere to annual CCI standards based on current criteria.
• Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and prepared for the next appointment.
• Comply with company, state, and federal confidentiality and healthcare regulations.
• Be at work regularly and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
