About The Position

The Field Technician (Gas Leak Survey Technician) inspects neighborhoods and utility areas to detect natural gas leaks using specialized equipment. The role involves working outdoors, walking several miles each day, and accurately recording and reporting findings to support public safety. After training, technicians work independently and use problem-solving skills and attention to detail to identify potential hazards. Technicians use modern safety equipment and technology to detect leaks and analyze data, and interact professionally with clients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid, unexpired driver's license.
• Personal vehicle available for daily work use.
• Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and walk several miles per day.
• Ability to carry up to 20 pounds of equipment.
• Physical endurance to work outdoors and perform tasks safely and effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Commitment to environmental safety and public protection.

• Direct experience working with hands-on technology, including phones or computers.
