About The Position

Ripon College invites applications for a two-year full-time Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology starting August 2027. The successful candidate will teach Microbiology and will contribute to a curriculum supporting biology, biomedical science, and biochemistry majors, including but not limited to Introductory Biology and an upper-division course in the area of expertise. All Ripon College faculty advise students, provide service to the college, and contribute to the distinctive Catalyst core curriculum. The expected teaching load is 6 courses per year or equivalent and mentoring senior thesis research projects. Successful applicants will have teaching experience, the ability to mentor undergraduate senior research theses, and a completed Ph. D. by August 2027. Ripon College is a small and vibrant, Phi Beta Kappa liberal arts college located in central Wisconsin. The newly renovated Franzen Science Center houses the Biology Department. The faculty at Ripon College are a talented and dynamic group of teacher-scholars who work closely with a diverse student population on capstone and undergraduate research projects and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration with one another on scholarship and creative activity. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or ABD in the Biological Sciences
  • Ability to teach microbiology and other core courses in the department
  • Strong commitment to student-centered active learning and student engagement
  • Completed Ph. D. by August 2027
  • Teaching experience
  • Ability to mentor undergraduate senior research theses
