About The Position

We are seeking an accomplished Vice President, Operations to join our Executive Leadership Team and help shape the future of our manufacturing organization. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an executive who is energized by building strong teams, improving performance, solving complex operational challenges, and creating an environment where people and operations can perform at their best. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President, Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple manufacturing locations in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. This leader will have responsibility for Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental functions, while partnering closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and other business leaders. Success in this role requires more than setting strategy. We are looking for a leader who is equally comfortable at the executive table and on the manufacturing floor—someone who can establish a clear vision, translate strategy into action, develop leaders, build accountability, and drive sustainable results. The Vice President, Operations will play a critical role in advancing performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, employee engagement, and profitability, while helping position Hussey Copper for continued operational excellence and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive industry-related leadership experience, including at least three years in upper management.
  • Proven experience leading manufacturing operations and building high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategy while delivering measurable business results.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with experience managing budgets, cost structures, operational plans, and performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to establish clear expectations, drive accountability, and influence leaders and teams across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, environmental responsibility, regulatory compliance, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ability and willingness to maintain a regular presence within manufacturing operations and travel between company locations as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, communicate, and execute the strategic direction of operations across multiple manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead performance across critical operational measures, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Provide executive leadership for Manufacturing, Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental functions.
  • Build organizational capability through effective staffing, talent development, training, employee engagement, and leadership development.
  • Partner with the President and Executive Leadership Team to establish business priorities and translate organizational goals into actionable operating plans.
  • Foster a high-performance culture centered on safety, accountability, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Ensure operational decisions, projects, staffing strategies, and investments align with the organization's vision, business plan, cost structure, and annual budget.
  • Establish and manage operating budgets while maintaining strong oversight of costs, staffing requirements, and overall operational performance.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Sales, and other functions to remove barriers, improve execution, and support current and future customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Establish consistent operational policies, practices, standards, performance expectations, and accountability across facilities.
  • Review operational performance and provide the President and Executive Leadership Team with clear insight into results, risks, priorities, and opportunities.
  • Maintain a visible presence within manufacturing operations, engaging directly with plant leaders, supervisors, and employees to understand challenges, solve problems, and improve performance.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, manufacturing practices, and operational trends that can strengthen safety, quality, productivity, and overall business performance.
