Vice President, Marketing

Genea
$200,000 - $240,000Remote

About The Position

Genea is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to build and develop the company's brand and lead its marketing function. This role requires a brand-forward leader with expertise in channel marketing. Reporting to the CEO and collaborating with the executive leadership team, the VP will be responsible for Genea's brand, positioning, channel and partner marketing, field events, and product marketing. The role involves managing distinct go-to-market strategies for both sell-through (channel/partner) and sell-to (direct, end-user) motions, as well as tailoring marketing efforts for Enterprise, Mid-market, and Commercial customer segments. The VP will lead an established team focused on demand generation and revenue marketing execution, allowing the VP to concentrate on brand-building, channel strategy, and overall marketing direction. The marketing function influences and supports pipeline in a sales-led revenue model, making it ideal for someone who enjoys building brand and channel in a partner-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on channel marketing expertise — this is what matters most to us. You know how to market through a sell-through / channel (two-tier distribution) model, and you're equally comfortable marketing direct to end users.
  • 10-12+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, with brand-building at the center and a track record of supporting revenue growth.
  • Proven brand-building leadership, including leading brand refreshes and modernizing positioning and identity.
  • Strong partner marketing background — co-marketing, partner enablement, and MDF/co-op programs.
  • A deep understanding of field and industry events as brand and pipeline drivers.
  • Product marketing and launch experience, including sales enablement and messaging.
  • Fluency in ABX marketing operations and attribution (Salesforce), with the ability to partner on and bridge reporting until a dedicated RevOps function matures.
  • Proven people leadership: building, mentoring, and scaling marketing teams.
  • Executive presence and the credibility to influence a leadership team.
  • You thrive building brand and channel in a business where marketing influences and supports revenue in partnership with sales, rather than owning the pipeline number.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% for events, partner engagements, and conferences.
  • Brand-first mindset paired with commercial awareness of how marketing supports revenue.
  • Strategic thinker, who can also roll up their sleeves in a scaling environment.
  • Skilled at influencing without authority and aligning cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator and storyteller in internal, partner-facing, and executive settings.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and building structure where none yet exists.
  • Passion for, and proven track record of, AI-enabled marketing & execution. Genea is an early, holistic adopter of AI and we are looking for a leader who is aligned with this approach.

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop Genea's brand strategy, positioning, and identity, and lead the in-progress brand refresh through to a modernized website and content system.
  • Lead channel and partner marketing, driving demand through and with integrators, resellers, and technology partners via co-marketing, partner enablement, MDF/co-op programs, and a partner advisory board.
  • Orchestrate marketing across both go-to-market motions: sell-through (through partners) and sell-to (direct to end users), applying the right approach to each.
  • Set the strategy for our field and industry events portfolio, from flagship shows like ISC West to an owned partner conference and technology-partner showcase, to build brand and influence pipeline.
  • Own product marketing and go-to-market for product and channel launches, including sales enablement and messaging.
  • Guide the team's demand generation and campaigns that support net-new logo growth, in partnership with Sales and BDR.
  • Partner with Sales to influence and report on marketing-sourced and -influenced pipeline, and help build account-level (ABM) reporting suited to a channel model.
  • Bridge marketing's stake in reporting and the martech stack until a dedicated RevOps function matures.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing team, building a collaborative, high-accountability culture, and own the marketing budget and ROI reporting.
  • Lead the marketing team and carry full supervisory responsibility of the department including brand, demand generation, product marketing, partner marketing, and event marketing.
  • Be accountable for hiring, development, performance management, and organizational design as the team scales.
