About The Position

The Vice President, Marketing Operations & Local Growth is a senior Marketing leader responsible for translating Dental Care Alliance (DCA) enterprise marketing strategies into coordinated, effective execution across its network of locally operated general and specialty dental practices. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this leader oversees General Practice Marketing, Specialty Marketing, Creative, and Creative Media. The VP owns the Marketing department’s operating model, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process improvement, field partnerships, and resources needed to support consistent execution and measurable practice-level growth. The role leads a practice-facing organization that connects centralized Marketing capabilities with Practice Managers, Field Operations Leaders, Regional Clinical Leaders, and specialty stakeholders. The VP is accountable for the quality, consistency, timeliness, and measurable contribution of local marketing execution, while recognizing that patient volume and practice revenue are shared outcomes influenced by Operations, clinical capacity, access, and patient experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related discipline required; an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.

  • 6+ years leading managers or senior cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success building and improving marketing operating models or field-facing teams across a complex, geographically distributed organization.
  • Strong business and analytical judgment, including the ability to assess location-level marketing performance, interpret conversion and revenue metrics, prioritize investments, and distinguish demand problems from operating constraints.
  • Experience leading cross-functional execution, complex projects, creative resources, external partners, budgets, and change management in a matrixed organization.
  • Credibility with senior executives and field leaders; clear communication, coaching skills, ownership, and the ability to translate strategy into practical, measurable operating plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (MBA or related field).
  • Experience in dental, healthcare, veterinary, or other multi-site consumer services businesses.
  • Experience supporting both general services and higher-consideration specialty offerings.
  • Experience in private equity-backed or similarly performance-oriented operating environments, including acquisitions, de novos, and geographically dispersed local brands.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operating model for practice-facing Marketing support across general and specialty practices, balancing enterprise standards with local differences in demand, competition, provider capacity, services, and market economics.
  • Oversee the Director, General Practice Marketing and six Local Marketing Managers; establish practical coverage models, priorities, service standards, and escalation paths. Each Local Marketing Manager is expected to support approximately 50 general dental practices.
  • Build effective working relationships with Practice Managers, Field Operations Leaders, and Regional Clinical Leaders so marketing initiatives respond to validated local business needs and frontline feedback.
  • Oversee general-practice marketing implementation and performance support across assigned local markets, ensuring consistent planning, follow-through, and appropriate escalation of underperforming practices.
  • Lead and oversee Specialty Marketing, including coordination of local specialty growth initiatives, referral-development programs, and field-based referral marketing where appropriate.
  • Work with specialty, Operations, and Clinical Leadership to align outreach and referral activities with provider availability, clinical services, referral relationships, and applicable compliance requirements.
  • Own, document, implement, and continuously improve Marketing department SOPs covering intake, prioritization, planning, briefing, approvals, execution, and reporting; establish accountable process owners and clear decision rights.
  • Map end-to-end marketing workflows across teams, agencies, and field partners; standardize handoffs, service expectations, escalation procedures, and quality controls to eliminate duplication, delays, and rework.
  • Lead a continuous-improvement process using workflow performance, stakeholder feedback, and root-cause analysis to prioritize fixes, automate repetitive activities where appropriate, and sustain adoption of updated SOPs.
  • Lead the Creative Director and Creative Media Director, setting service expectations, work priorities, production standards, and resource planning for enterprise and local marketing needs.
  • Ensure creative and media production delivers accurate, brand-aligned, compliant, timely, and locally relevant materials across channels and practice types.
  • Build efficient creative briefs, review and approval processes, asset libraries, templates, and production workflows that reduce duplication and accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
  • Partner with Finance, Analytics, Patient Acquisition, Patient Engagement, and Operations to produce trusted practice- and market-level reporting that distinguishes marketing activity from booked visits, completed visits, production, collections, and total practice performance.
  • Use practice-level data and field insight to identify potential constraints in demand, lead handling, scheduling, appointment access, provider/chair capacity, patient retention, and execution; involve the accountable function in diagnosis and resolution.
  • Lead regular business reviews with Marketing and field stakeholders; turn findings into prioritized action plans, document owners and deadlines, and track whether actions improve performance.
