Vice President, Business Development

Red Ventures
•$190,000 - $288,000

About The Position

Allconnect helps people set up essential services for a new home, including internet, energy, home security, insurance, and moving services. The Vice President, Business Development will expand Allconnect’s partnerships to reach movers earlier—particularly through partners that engage customers 30 to 90 days before move day. The role is responsible for personally securing partnerships in new categories such as mortgage and title, real estate, relocation and moving, insurance, and retail, as well as setting the strategy and building the team to pursue those opportunities. This executive role owns new partnership revenue and sits on the leadership team of a fast-growing business. It determines which categories to pursue and when, develops the offering and commercial approach for each, structures and prices partnerships, organizes and resources the team, and tracks competitors. The role also works with product and engineering to define partner needs and with account management to support partner launches.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in business development, partnerships, or enterprise sales, including several years leading a team.
  • A track record of personally closing large platform partnerships and growing partner revenue year over year.
  • Experience entering a new business category or audience by selecting where to compete, developing a plan, and personally closing initial accounts.
  • Experience with B2B2C models in which a product is embedded in a partner platform and sold to the partner’s customers.
  • Ability to own deals end to end, from initial pitch through commercial modeling, contract negotiation, and hand-off.
  • Technical ability to sell an integration, work with product and engineering leaders, and translate partner needs into roadmap requirements.
  • Experience building or rebuilding an outbound sales motion, including team structure, pipeline and CRM discipline, executive forecasting, and seller coaching.
  • Ability to operate effectively with executives at partner organizations and internally, and to secure buy-in.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including understanding unit economics and margin and prioritizing a large pipeline against limited product and engineering capacity.
  • Self-directed approach and comfort working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • Ability to develop people and build strong teams.
