About The Position

Hickory Veterinary & Specialty Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician for its general practice in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The role supports veterinarians with routine procedures and provides comprehensive patient care, client communication, and case-management support. The schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts, including one weekend day per week. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with experience and licensure. A $2,000 retention bonus is offered.

Nice To Haves

CVT, LVT, or RVT licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with routine general practice procedures, including examinations, diagnostics, anesthesia monitoring, laboratory work, venipuncture, and catheter placement.
Support patient intake, client communication, and education about treatments.
Prepare patients for appointments by reviewing and interpreting bloodwork, medical history, and diagnostics.
Administer and monitor medications to ensure safe and accurate patient care.
Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients during consultations, discharges, and follow-up updates.
Maintain accurate patient records and support seamless case management.
Collaborate with veterinarians and fellow technicians to provide comprehensive patient care.
Support other hospital teams as needed after completing assigned duties.
