About The Position

Medical Veterinary Service is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join their compassionate, modern veterinary practice. This full-time role offers flexible scheduling and competitive pay based on experience. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital and will work closely with veterinarians on examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgery, and hospitalized patient care. Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills
  • Experience performing laboratory testing

Responsibilities

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations and treatments
  • Supporting surgical procedures
  • Performing diagnostic testing, including bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Assisting with and obtaining diagnostic X-rays
  • Administering medications as directed
  • Administering vaccinations as directed
  • Assisting with anesthesia and anesthetic patient care
  • Monitoring patients throughout procedures and recovery
  • Providing attentive care to hospitalized patients
  • Helping care for hospitalized patients on weekends as needed
  • Safely handling and restraining animals
  • Educating pet owners about treatment plans and home care
  • Providing client education regarding preventive health measures
  • Maintaining accurate and complete medical records
  • Cleaning and maintaining medical equipment
  • Helping maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment areas
  • Communicating effectively with veterinarians and fellow team members
