About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for clients. The role involves providing attentive, compassionate service and remaining calm and professional when clients are facing emotional or difficult situations. The schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The stated pay range is $19.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience and advancement through the competency assessment tool.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and professionally when they enter the hospital.
• Listen compassionately and communicate clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and by telephone.
• Assess each arriving client’s immediate needs and the pet’s general condition.
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” or “standard” emergency.
• Respond to non-patient calls and visitors and connect them with the appropriate team member.
• Confirm appointments in advance and provide accurate instructions for preparing pets for appointments.
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
• Liaise with clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains, ensuring the process is complete, accurate, and compassionate.
