About The Position

Animal Medical Clinic of Wheaton is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager to lead hospital operations, support top-tier patient care and exceptional client service, and help drive the hospital’s growth, profitability, and culture. The manager is part of the hospital management team and collaborates closely with the Managing Veterinarian to ensure efficient and profitable operations. The role oversees operational planning and coordination, revenue and cost management, and the development of a supportive, cohesive team environment. Regular onsite attendance is a fundamental requirement because the role involves managerial responsibilities and in-person interaction with clients and employees.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in a managerial role, including customer service experience.
Regular onsite attendance is required.

Nice To Haves

Leadership experience in veterinary medicine is highly preferred.
A bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is preferred.
Experience in a hospital, retail, or service-based industry setting in positions of increasing responsibility is a plus.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of the hospital’s profit and loss and be accountable for its performance.
Collaborate with regional leadership to identify trends and forecast hospital needs.
Manage accounts receivable.
Oversee hospital inventory and control facility and administrative costs.
Manage payroll for hospital staff.
Develop the hospital schedule and manage labor costs.
Champion change and identify, document, share, and promote best practices.
Lead the hospital team in improving client service, operations, and administrative processes and workflows.
Implement technologies and initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Establish and drive the hospital’s culture.
Track and maintain current licensures for all DVMs.
Provide feedback and handle challenging conversations.
