About The Position

East Bend Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Hospital Manager who combines strong emotional intelligence, exceptional people leadership, and operational expertise. The ideal candidate is passionate about building a positive, collaborative culture, mentoring and developing team members, and successfully balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Previous management experience is required, along with a proven track record of leading teams, managing projects, and driving organizational success. As our Hospital Manager, you'll partner closely with the Medical Director and leadership team to oversee daily operations, support team growth and engagement, and foster a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives on coaching others, navigating competing priorities, and creating an environment where both people and the hospital can succeed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of business management experience required
  • Exceptional communication skills with a collaborative and servant leadership approach
  • Resilience and adeptness in handling emotionally charged situations.
  • Proficiency in budget management.
  • Experience with team training and supervision.
  • Strong computer literacy and adaptability to new systems.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Capacity to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Veterinary hospital management or medical/dental office management experience preferred
  • Previous experience within a veterinary hospital preferred (e.g. veterinary technician or receptionist)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor hospital performance, manage budgets, oversee payroll and financial operations, and drive business growth through data-informed decisions.
  • Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute long-term goals, expand services, and support referral and business partnerships.
  • Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
  • Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
  • Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
