About The Position

Our ideal Vet Assistant/ Receptionist will counsel, greet and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure. This person will appropriately screen calls, book appointments, take detailed messages as well as provide knowledgeable non-medical information to clients. Responsibilities also include performing a variety of administrative office tasks, including mail (receiving, sorting, distributing, posting), drafting memos and other correspondence, completing reports and other ad-hoc document requests. We are looking for someone who can work part-time.

Requirements

  • Ability to counsel, greet and educate clients on various aspects of animal care.
